Vincenza holds a PhD in Comparative Studies from Florida Atlantic University.
In 2018 she was a fellow at the Istanbul Studies Center (Kadir Has University-Istanbul). In 2020, in collaboration with the Department of Linguistics at Boğaziçi University Vincenza produced a documentary based on interviews and life testimonies of elderly Deaf people ("We were there ... we are here" ) as part of the Sigh-Hub Project which was funded by the European Commission (Horizon 2020).
Vincenza has taught Italian as a foreign language and Italian Cinema undergraduate face-to-face and online courses in the United States (University of Connecticut and Florida Atlantic University).
Her research interests focus on teaching language through an interdisciplinary approach, using film and masterpieces as tools to develop students’ productive and receptive skills. She is also interested in documentary and ethnography. Currently, she is developing a project on the Italian community in South Florida.

- 'We were there ... We are here', a documentary movie based on interviews and life testimonies of elderly Deaf people. The interviews were conducted and filmed by Deaf teams (http://www.sign-hub.eu/). SIGN-HUB Project, funded by the European Commission, Horizon 2020.
